The annual outing at Ned Grant's ('30) farm was held on July 15. Bill Berg '45 with the assistance of Howard Bissell '51 and Newcomb Eldridge '50 put on a ball game (in which all participated as long as health permitted), plus a golf contest and horseshoes for those who dropped out of the ball game, all followed by an excellent steak dinner prepared under the supervision of Ned Grant himself.
On September 9 Don McKinlay '37 had a reception at his house for undergraduates and local high school prospects, including a number of sons of alumni.
The annual Squaw Picnic was held on September 12 at the Elks Falls Ranch near Schaffer's Crossing, southwest of Denver. Bill Berg and his helpers were again responsible for excellent entertainment and a fine out-door dinner.
Howie Rea '38, recently of Washington, D. C., has joined the Denver law firm of Lewis, Grant & Davis.... Bill Gahagan '35 has left Denver for a year in Italy where he expects to do some teaching and writing.
There will be a delegation of Dartmouth men from this area at the Dartmouth Southwest Conference to be held in Dallas, November 13 and 14.
The alumni here are looking forward with enthusiasm to the appearance of the Dartmouth hockey team on January 1 and 2, 1954, when it will play Denver University at the Denver University Arena. Plans are being made to reserve a large block of tickets at each of these games.
A welcome summer visitor was Hart Gilchrist '31, who graduated from our Association of the Great Divide to be vice president of the American States Insurance Cos. in Indianapolis. He could not resist coming back to pay us a visit and we were all delighted to see him.
