DARTMOUTH COLLEGE has received from the Westinghouse Educational Foundation a grant of $2,000 a year for five years in support of a Fellowship in Engineering and Business to be awarded to a second-year student in the combined program of the Thayer School of Engineering and the Tuck School of Business Administration.
The program, known as the Westing-house Fellowship in Engineering and Business, will be administered by the deans of the two graduate schools, who will select recipients on the basis of potential and promise in the two fields.
Of the total grant, which will first be offered in the 1954-55 academic year, $1200 will be awarded as a stipend to the recipient, and $800 will be considered as additional support to Dartmouth in recognition of the high cost of graduate education.
Granted initially to Dartmouth for a five-year term, the project at the end of that time will be considered on a year-to-year basis and its continuance will depend upon conditions then existing.
