Fund-Raising Chairman For Tucker Foundation

CHARLES E. GRIFFITH '15 of New York City has been named national chairman of the William Jewett Tucker Foundation Fund Committee which is seeking funds to support the Foundation's work in furthering spiritual and moral values at Dartmouth College. Louis E. Leverone '04 of Chicago is serving as national vice chairman of the committee, which has a 1955 goal of $300,000, representing the first step in building a substantial fund to endow the Foundation's future work and to supply physical facilities.

Mr. Griffith is First Vice President of Silver-Burdett and Company, New York publishers, and a resident of Glen Ridge, N. J., where he is active in civic affairs. He has been chairman of the Foreign Education Committee of the American Textbook Publishers Institute, a trustee of the Montclair Art Museum, and president of the trustees of the Glen Ridge Library. He is a former president of the Dartmouth Club of New York.

Mr. Leverone is president of Nationwide Food Service, Inc., of Chicago, which operates more than 150 industrial plant cafeterias in 28 states. He is active in many corporations and civic groups and is prominent in aviation circles. A past member of the Dartmouth Alumni Council, he also served as Class Agent and as president of the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Chicago.

Working with Mr. Griffith and Mr. Leverone will be a group of alumni in key cities. Roswell Magill '16 is area vice chairman for New York, Royal Parkinson '05 for Boston, and Kenneth M. Henderson '16 for Chicago.
