SINCE the beginning of the year, ten alumni and a member of the Thayer School faculty have represented the College at various academic occasions throughout the country.

Lester B. Mason '28 attended the inauguration of Clifford Cook Furnas as Chancellor of the University of Buffalo (N. Y.) on January 7; F. Jordan McCarthy '26, the inauguration of Wilson Homer Elkins as President of the University of Maryland, College Park, on January 20; Charles C. Merrill '94, the inauguration of the Rev. Roy Messer Pearson as President of the Andover Newton Theological School, Newton Centre, Mass., on February 8; Harold Fields '28, ceremonies commemorating the 100 th anniversary of the founding of Michigan State College, East Lansing, on February 12; William D Knight 'OB, the inauguration of Leland Henry Carlson as President of Rockford College (Ill.) on February 27.

Melvin H. Partridge '27 was present at the dedication of the new Coffman Chapel at Hood College, Frederick, Md., on March 25-27; John S. Greene '26, the inauguration of Clark George Kuebler as Provost of Santa Barbara College, the University of California, at Goleta, on March 28; Harrison S. Dey '27, the inauguration of Charles Wallace McKenzie 'so as President of Mary Baldwin College, Staunton, Va., on April 16; Joseph J. Ermenc, Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Thayer School, the 75th anniversary of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, N. J., on April 16; Richard R. Otter '41, Holy Cross Day, commemorating the 100 th anniversary of St. Mary's College and the dedication of St. Mary's Science Hall, Notre Dame (Ind.) on April 23; Lester M. Nichols '40, convocation and inauguration of Lawrence Lee Bethel as President of the Fashion Institute of Technology, New York City, on April 27.

In May two alumni are scheduled to represent Dartmouth on special occasions: Roscoe DeWitt '14 will attend the inauguration of Willis McDonald Tate as President of Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas, on May 5; and John H. Altorfer '43, the inauguration of Harold Potter Rodes '41, as President of Bradley University, Peoria, Ill., on May 6.
