RECENT developments indicate that the College's recreational facilities at Moosilauke will play an important part in New Hampshire's Vacation Jubilee program.
The summer crew is already selected, according to Robert S. Monahan '29, Manager of College Outing Properties, with last year's assistant manager, Brad Leonard '56, back as manager this summer, assisted by Doug Pease '58 and Crew Foreman John Palmer '56. Behmie Turcis, capable logging camp cook from Lincoln, will return for his third season in the Ravine Lodge kitchen.
The season will start May 29 with a five-day meeting of the Appalachian Trail Conference, which will hold its first session in New England since its 1939 gathering at Mount Katahdin. At least 100 trail enthusiasts are expected for two days of meetings and three days devoted to climbs of Moosilanke, Washington and Lafayette.
Camp Jobildunc, the junior woodcraft outing for boys from ten to fourteen, will be conducted this year from August 14 to September 3, under the personal direction of Chad Day '53, captain two years ago of Dartmouth's championship Woodsman's Weekend Team and now a pre-medical student. Details describing this unique opportunity for boys to learn how to live and have fun in the woods are available from the Office of College Outing Properties, 304 Parkhurst Hall.
