THREE awards for distinguished service to society were presented to New York alumni by the Dartmouth Club of New York at a luncheon meeting at the Hotel Statler on April 27. They were presented by Club President Carl P. Ray '37 to Sigurd S. Larmon '14, president of Young and Rubicam and a leader in the government's information program; Courtney C. Brown '26, Dean of the Graduate School of Business at Columbia University; and Dr. Emerson Day '34, Chief of the Division of Preventive Medicine of the SloanKettering Institute for Cancer Research.

The awards are the first of an annual series dedicated to alumni in the metropolitan New York area who distinguish themselves in business or their profession or in service to the community. The recipients are to be chosen annually by the Board of Governors of the Dartmouth Club of New York.

Mr. Larmon's award was received in absentia by his brother, Park J. Larmon '16. Mr. Larmon, a Trustee of the College, is now on an around-the-world trip as a member of the U. S. Advisory Committee on Information, to which he was appointed by President Eisenhower last year.
