This is a list of 1900 Florida visitors for the past winter: Permanent: Jonakowskis, Wardens. Limited: Bigelows, Christys, Proctors, Rankins, Dodds, Mathes. Touring: Butterfield, Jenkins. No definite information: Putnam, Newton. Widows: Mrs. Barrows, Mrs. Bockley, Mrs. Clark, Mrs. Fletcher, Mrs. Hildreth.
There are probably others about whom we were not informed.
Butterfield and Jenkins together with a medical friend of Butter's deserve more space than this. I gather that their trip covered practically all points of interest between Concord and Key West, omitting only the Statue of Liberty and Larchmont.
Some weeks ago, a classmate asked me if I recalled the "Book of the Class of 1900." I dug into the class files and found a copy at the bottom. The following are listed under Class Officers: President, Walter Rankin; Vice President, Roger A. Dunlap; Marshal, George F. Men-ill; Assistant Marshal, Harry M. Jenkins; Chorister, Arthur R. Virgin; Floor Director, John C. Redington; Secretary and Treasurer, Henry N. Teague; Executive Committee, Keys (Chr.), Salinger, Atwood, Wentworth, Leonard.
The Commencement address of welcome was given by Rankin. The address to the President (Dr. Tucker) by Roberts; the Class Poem by Keyes; the Class Oration by Ham; prophesies by Emerson; chronicles by Tuttle (L. Headdress at the Old Pine by Dunlap. All these are printed in "The Book."
After Nat Thayer's death in April 1953, his widow Ida maintained contact with 1900 and provided a contribution to the Class Fund in memory of Nat. It is our regret to report her death 011 October 23, 1955, at the Bronxville (N.Y.) Hospital after a few weeks' illness. Nat and Ida had four daughters and two grandchildren.
Mrs. Benjamin F. Lovett (sister-in-law of Charles Rogers) who, since Mrs. Rogers' death, sends an annual memorial, reports a change of address: 480 Washington St., Braintree, Mass.
What with three blizzards and three weeks away from home, the value of this paragraph is questionable. It seems that on Ground Hog Day or Candlemas, Ben Prescott fell on the ice, injuring his left knee. This is based on a report around April 1. As we are obliged to meet a deadline, of April 5, for the May issue, we hope that when you read this item, it will only have historic and anatomic value.
