BIG NEWS FOR 1912ers! Now is the time to make your plans to attend the annual Informal Reunion to be held at Orford Inn, Orford, N.H., June 22-23-24-25. Thanks to Henry Van Dyne, Orford Inn has been exclusively reserved for those days inasmuch as Henry says: "At a bull session at Orford Inn last June, everyone agreed that the informal reunions should be held annually and everyone who was present had a swell time and almost all of them are planning to go back this year." Orford Inn is a clean, comfortable country inn, only twenty to thirty minutes' drive from Hanover, with a capacity of 22 guests, and there are three guest houses almost next door to the Inn, with accommodations for an additional 24 people. In all of these there are single, double and twin bedrooms, some with private or connecting baths. Rates are $4 single, $6 double, and twin bedrooms at $7 to SB. All are on the European Plan, but excellent home-cooked meals are served in the Inn dining room at moderate prices. The "Reunion" program is entirely informal, confined to sitting around, visiting, or golf if you like. A Saturday night class dinner will be planned for either the Outing Club House or Hanover Inn. Send your reservations to me, telling me what accommodations you desire. Henry has already made reservations for himself and Dorothy, and he says that several others have already planned to be there.

Doc O'Connor was chosen as president-elect of the National Health Council, at its annual business meeting in New York on March 23, his term of office to start in 1957. Together with Charles K. Woodbridge '04 and Sylvester L. Weaver Jr. '30, Doc was honored at the Annual Awards Dinner of the Dartmouth College Club of New York on April 24.

The March issue of Dartmouth Club News said that Boss Geller was one of the Dartmouth men recently staying at the Club. How come no word from you, Boss, while you were there?

In a letter to Bob Belknap written from Palermo, Sicily, Al Smith says that his brother interrupted a European and Near Eastern trip to return to Truro, Mass., for Aldith Smith's funeral, and persuaded Al to go with him in resuming the trip. They flew from Boston on February 1, to Lisbon. After a couple of days in Barcelona, they flew to Mallorca for a day, along the southern French Coast, then to Rome, and on to Naples. They were snowbound in Palermo, but finally arranged to go over to Tunis by boat. After Tunis they planned to go to Cairo, Damascus, Bagdad, Teheran, and back via Istanbul, Athens, Rome again, Zurich, Frankfort, Berlin, London and Paris, expecting to arrive home about April 10.

A note to Lyme Armes from Dorothy Rollins says:

"To you and all of Carle's classmates, Mother Rollins and the boys join me in thanking you for the very fine memorial that will be given to the Dartmouth College Library. It is a very suitable gift and is greatly appreciated by us."

This last year Louis Ekstrom was president of the Lehigh Valley Phi Delta Theta Alumni Club, and persuaded me to come to Bethlehem, Pa., the latter part of March, to speak at the annual dinner of that organization. The best part of the trip was the fine visit with Louis and Alice at their home in Bethlehem. Louis certainly is enjoying himself and being most active in his retirement in church and civic affairs.

A letter from Violetta Greene Pickering written from Deer Isle, Maine, to Lyme says:

"Just a line to let you know how much I appreciate your kindness in sending me your interesting Newsletters and the ALUMNI MAGAZINE. It's wonderful to be kept in touch - and, as we grow older, the memories grow stronger. Certainly those of Dartmouth, though too few, remain very dear to me. May I at this time enclose my small contribution to the Alumni Fund.... I hope that I can sometime send you a real check."

Now is the time to get busy with the checkbook and send Eddie Luitwieler one big contribution to the Alumni Fund. The quota assigned to the Class for this year is $9,950, so we will all have to pitch in to see Eddie again make a 100% record.
