The annual meeting of the Dartmouth Society of Engineers was held at the Dartmouth Club in New York City Tuesday evening, October 15, with a total attendance of fifty. Feature speaker of the evening was Provost Morrison whose remarks centered on Dartmouth as an institution of higher learning and on the relation of Thayer School to the College. Dick Olmsted '33, Business Manager of the College, spoke on the rapidly expanding building and maintenance program and outlined the principal plant needs of the College which must be met by new construction during the coming few years. Dean Kimball summarized the curriculum development work which had gone forward during the past year and presented a brief review of activities at the School during the year. Charles Reynolds, Assistant Dean of Thayer School, was introduced.

Officers of the Society for the coming year announced at the Annual Meeting are President, Charlie Hitchcock Jr. '39; Vice-President, Byron Tomlinson '36; Secretary, PaulHenegan CE'49; Treasurer, Bob Mcllwain TT'51; Executive Committee Members-atLarge, Art Hendler EE'49, Bob Egelhoff '39, and Tom Streeter TT'48; and Ex-Officio Members, Dutch Schroedel '26, Rick Davidson '41, and Dean Kimball.

Constitutional amendments voted by letter ballot and announced at the Annual Meeting provide discretion to the Executive Committee in the election of life members and per-Mit the re-election of President and Vice-Pres-ident for a second consecutive term of office.

Alan Jackson TT'53, after a brief sojourn in this country, has returned to Switzerland where he has been appointed Technical Director of European Coverage, Inc., an organization specializing in technical liaison and the exchange of industrial information between Europe and the United States. In his new position, Alan will act as editor of ETC's semi-monthly engineering news letter, European Engineering Report.

Bill Conway CE'54, formerly a member of the Thayer School staff and more recently a member of the U. S. Navy's staff, has completed his tour of duty in the latter organization and entered professional life with the consulting engineering firm of Modejeski and Masters, bridge designers, in Harrisburg. Bonnie and Bill are living with son William Barret Junior, born June 5, 1957, at 2822 Wilson Parkway, Harrisburg, Pa. In addition to his daytime duties as a structural designer, Bill is teaching strength of materials two nights a week for the Penn State Extension Night School.

Dek Davidson CE'53 has shifted his allegiance from one of the "newest" engineeringmaterials to one of the oldest by leavingAlcoa to accept a position with TimberStructures, Inc., specializing in long-spanlaminated beams, trusses and arches.

Tom Streeter TT'48 has made what mightbe considered a comparable shift, from electronics to air conditioning, in joining thefirm of Meyer and Depew, specializing incommercial, residential and industrial conditioned air systems.

Bob Craig EE'48 has recently been promoted to District Plant Superintendent inthe Bell Telephone Company at Pennsylvania.
