University Park

Dartmouth Night was celebrated in University Park this year at the home of Professor and Mrs. Bruce Sutherland '29 - The guests of honor were Mr. and Mrs. WilliamLoveland Hutchinson '99, and their son-inlaw and daughter Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Glass with whom they make their home. Dean andMrs. Richard C. Maloney '26, Mr. and Mrs.F. B. Laidlaw '24 and Mr. and Mrs. John F.Knapp '50 were the other couples who were able to attend.

Illness prevented other members of the Dartmouth family in this area from venturing forth. Sadly missed were Professor and Mrs. Edward H. Dusham '10, Professor and Mrs. Richard P. Nickelsen '47, and Mr. and Mrs. Howard N. Sloan Jr. '54. Four younger Dartmouth men who are now graduate students at The Pennsylvania State University, Jerry Van Hook '54, Earle Lenker '56, Harvey Hamilton '56 and Don Spaulding '57 added charm and color to what proved to be a very enjoyable evening. From 1899 to 1957 Dartmouth may have changed physically, but it is evident that the spirit has remained much the same.
