The Dartmouth Club of Central Florida convened for their annual dinner meeting on March 23 at the San Juan Hotel in Orlando.
The club was honored to have as their guests, Dr. and Mrs. Arthur Upgren. Dr. Upgren is Dean of the Amos Tuck School and spent some time earlier in the day conferring with John Tiedtke '30, Treasurer of Rollins College, about students who wished to enter the Business School.
After dinner the Dean presented a most entertaining talk covering a wide range of subjects from the college to the international economic situation.
Nominations were submitted and officers and directors for 1957-'58 were elected. The new officers are:
President - Jack Zimmer '42 Vice-President - John M. Tiedtke '30 Secretary-Treasurer — James A. Thomas '40
Afterward most of the alumni and their wives attended a concert by the Florida Symphony Orchestra, as invited guests of the Symphony Society.
It was the consensus of all who attended that this was one of the best meetings of the Dartmouth Club of Central Florida in recent years. It was particularly nice to have in attendance alumni from the older classes who are identified with some of the formative years of the college as we know it today.
Including wives, the group numbered over 30 for the evening. Alumni attending and not mentioned elsewhere were:
Dr. E. O. Grover '94, F. E. Austin '95, M. L. Crowell '01, W. A. Martin '07, R. S. HursK '10, D. A. Cheney '11, T. Gedge '25, J. G. Rogers II '25, J. R. Atwill '36, M. W. Price Jr. '39, R. H. Proctor '43, D. Cotton '49.
Paul Sample '20 (center), Dartmouth's Artist in Residence, was guest of honor at the spring meeting of the Dartmouth Club of Hartford, Conn., on March 29. With him are (left) Hap Bush '44, chairman, and Sax Ziemen '35, president of the Hartford club.
