DARTMOUTH SKIWAY: Fresh Powder Snow on a 50-Inch Base; Skiing Good to Excellent
March 1958

THE gods of winter got around to blessing the Dartmouth Skiway a little belatedly this year but during the second week in January the heavens began to open and the Skiway has been operating under good to excellent conditions ever since, with snow cover ranging from 12 to 40 inches. Crowds, especially during the middle of the week, have been better than last year and prospects are bright for the rest of the season. The Skiway provided an excellent location for the downhill and slalom races during Carnival when the victorious Dartmouth team swept all before it. It will be the scene of the National Collegiate Championships from February 28 to March 2. The accompanying photographs, by Adrian Bouchard, will give alumni some idea of what the Skiway is like in its first full year of operation.
