Bruce Friedlich '41 was honored at the annual dinner of class officers in Hanover, May 2, with the 1957 Harvey P. Hood Trophy, given annually to the outstanding Class Agent among the classes eleven to 25 years out of college. Alumni Fund Chairman William G. Morton '28 read the following citation at the dinner:

Bruce Friedlich, Head Class Agent of the Class of 1941: In the short span of only three Alumni Fund Campaigns you have clearly demonstrated the results which can be achieved by careful analysis, imaginative leadership and a flair for the dramatic. Your ingenious mailings, including perfume for the ladies and "My Pop is Tops" buttons for the youngsters, have brought 1941 gifts flooding into Hanover in ever increasing abundance. In your first year as Head Agent you succeeded in attaining the largest contributor increase recorded by any class, with a one-year gain of 133 donors. Dollar totals from 1941 have doubled during your regime, from $6,000 in 1954 to nearly $12,000 received last year. More importantly, your class mailing program and your stimulating Agents Bulletins have proved an inspiration to many other classes. For all that you have done for the Class of 1941 and the Alumni Fund, as well as for your services as President of the Class Agents Association this past year, the Alumni Fund Committee is privileged this evening to recognize you as the outstanding Head Agent of a class eleven to 25 years out of College in the 1957 Alumni Fund, by awarding you the Harvey P. Hood Trophy.
