A total of 331 men in the Class of 1959, or about 58% of the class, will be carrying on graduate study this year. A good many will be right in Hanover — 63 at Tuck School, 30 at Medical School, and 19 at Thayer School. Fifty-six men will be in law school, 41 in other medical schools, 17 in other business schools, three in other engineering schools, and 92 in various universities in this country and abroad. Six will be studying architecture, three dentistry, and three theology. Of the graduate students, 63 have received grants of some kind.
The class questionnaire that turned up these figures on graduate study also disclosed that 153 men of 1959 were going directly into military service, and 35 had plans to enter the business world. Three '59ers were going immediately into teaching, two were going to give art or poetry a try, and the rest of the class was uncertain about postgraduation activity.
Of the 576 seniors on campus in June, 563 answered the questionnaire prepared by Alumni Records and distributed by the Dean's Office.
