Dartmouth's spring track squad, under Coach Ellie Noyes, has just gone outdoors and indications are that the team generally will be similar to the winter track team - rather weak except in some of the field events.

Coach Noyes has three veteran discus throwers in George Ramming, Rod Isaacson and Carl Mayer. Gregg Millett and Dick Noll in the pole vault, and Rick Husband, Dave Sloper and Tom Conger in the broad jump provide adequate depth in these events. Norm Page and Connie Persels are Dartmouth's top high-jumpers, while Carl Mayer and Charlie Weingarten team up in the javelin toss. Wes Mattson and John Penn are the top candidates in the hammer throw.

Dartmouth's running squad, however, lacks the depth and experience shown in the field events. Bill Zeilman and Dave Sloper are the only sprinters of merit, while Jim Mueller, Jerry Boyle and Ford Daley are quarter-milers and relay racers. Captain Mike Kistler and Roger Coates are the leading milers, with Bob Colyer, Tom Lennox and Ellie Weiss in the half mile. Handling the hurdles events will be Lynn Carlin, John Ebers and Tim Tyler.

To date the team has been working hard, but facing teams like Columbia, Boston University, Harvard and Colgate, plus the Heptagonal and IC4A meets, is rough and the Indians will have to really push to just break even.
