February 1960 WALLACE ROGERS II

The Atlanta Chapter of the Dartmouth College Club of Georgia met Tuesday, December 29, 1959, for our annual get-together of undergraduates, alumni, and prospective students. At the meeting, the officers of the club for 1960 were elected as follows: President, Carlton Evans '48; Vice President, Roger Antaya '44 and Alva Wilson '25; Secretary, Wallace Rogers II '56; Treasurer, Allen Wrisley '50; Chairman, Social Committee, Don Evans '43.

"Rubber" Floyd '14 traveled from Cartersville, Ga., to be with us, and led the singing of Dartmouth songs which began the program. We caught up on current activities on campus from the undergraduates present: Ned Nabors '60; Don Shropshire '61; Jerre Sumter '61; King Embry '62; Ben Read '62; Bill Wholey '62; Kip Loggins '63; and Jim Valentine '63. We were all glad to see "Dune"Dobie '38, back with us after a serious operation. We also welcomed Pierce McKee '51;Larry Lewis '53; Don Smith '53; GeorgeCsiky '54; and Glower Jones '58, to the Atlanta chapter meeting for the first time.

Our group represented classes spanning a half-century ... including, in addition to those already mentioned, Homer Rowe '26; Dick Exton '29; Bud Purdy '29; Al Starret '29; Bob Bruce '30; John Fish '34; Lou Fortuna '38; Carl Brewer '46; Dick Sears '47; Ed Gingrich '48; Bill Hartshorn '48; and Guy Busch '49. And, of course, we are always glad to welcome prospective Dartmouth students. As special guests, we had fathers R. A. Sears and Robert A. Van Houten and a guest of Bill Hartshorn, Harry W. Wallace Jr., Tulane 1920.

This meeting not only showed our guests the obvious prosperity and good spirits of the Dartmouth alumni, but also reminded us of the bonds of loyalty and friendship which tie us forever to the college on the hill.
