THE Dartmouth College Collection of original works of art enjoyed an impressive growth during the year 1959-60, both in the number of gifts and purchases of prized items and in the value of the collection. The addition of 227 items with an appraised value of $154,553 made this the second best year in the growth of the collection - not as rich as the previous year's all-time high of $172,683 but far above the annual average of $55,197 for the five-year period from 1954 to 1959.
