Two Christmas classics for children, TheNight Before Christmas by Clement C. Moore and Rudolph the Red-Nosed. Reindeer by Robert L. May '26, have recently been published in a single volume by Maxton Publishing Corporation, New York. Containing some sixty big pages, the volume is handsomely printed in color, with illustrations by Ruth Ives.
A foreword to the book tells how Clement Moore created The Night Before Christmas for his children in 1822 and how Bob May wrote Rudolph in 1939 at the request of Montgomery Ward Co., for which he was then writing advertising and is now catalogue editorial director. The original manuscript of Rudolph has been presented to Dartmouth's Baker Library.
