Mrs. Harold P. Hathaway and son John paid an unexpected visit to Johnnie Ward the latter part of June. Their Volkswagen brought them across country from their home in Tucson, Ariz., to spend the summer with her daughter in Lexington, Mass. She sends greetings to the class.
Harlan F. Curtis died July 31 at his home for the last seven years in Northampton, Mass. Born May 12, 1878 in South Hartford, N. Y., he graduated from Brewster Academy in 1897 and the University of Vermont Medical School in 1903. He practiced medicine in Wolfeboro, N. H., until retirement in 1951. He is survived by his wife Bernice.
Dr. Harry S. Clark in August became president of the Danvers (Mass.) Co-operative Bank, of which he has been a director for 38 years.
Tommy Remsen's daughter, Mrs. Anne Remsen Pope and her husband Al Pope, Curtis Road, Middlebury, Conn., announce the arrival of potential football material, September 14 in the person of David W. Pope, nine-and-a-half pounds. His brother Billy will be three on October 27.
"Bill" Sykes reports he was 86 in September — says his senses are intact, his health good and he thoroughly enjoys life. He was delayed getting to our 60th reunion on its last day in June. But says he stayed with his sister and had a glorious time, but was glad to get back to Puerto Rico. "After 57 years," he says "this is my country and these are my people." Bill says 27 of his friends gave him a big party September 23. "They loaded me down with gifts. I don't know why an old duffer like me should have so many friends."
