THE Clark-Tucker Scholarships for New Hampshire boys attending Dartmouth College have recently been established by means of an endowment fund of about $113,000 received by the College under the will of the late George Gallup Clark '99 of Plymouth, N. H.

Mr. Clark's objective was to make it financially possible for more rural New Hampshire boys to attend Dartmouth. Named in honor of three Plymouth boys - William Jewett Tucker, President of Dartmouth College from 1893 to 1909; Mr. Clark's father, George Clark; and his uncle, Thomas Frasier Clark, all of whom were classmates at Thetford and Kimball Union Academies - the scholarships are intended for "just such boys as those for whom the scholarships are named."

Based on the applicant's need, the Clark-Tucker Scholarships will provide up to full tuition and living expenses for each recipient for four years. Preference will be given to qualified students from Grafton County.

By a separate trust of $50,000, Mr. Clark also provided for two scholarships of up to $750 each to be given each year to a boy and a girl whose homes are in Plymouth, N. H. Under the terms of this trust one of these scholarships is to be awarded to a boy attending Dartmouth who best satisfies the College's "intellectual, physical and moral requirements." The second scholarship is available to a girl who has successfully completed high school, to enable her to pursue further study outside of Plymouth.
