Alumni Directory Is Out

The 1960 edition of the Dartmouth Alumni Birectory is off the press and ready for distribution. Compiled by the Alumni Records Office under the editorship of Mrs. Charlotte Ford Morrison, the book contains the names of over 30,000 men still living who have attended the College or associated schools, or who have received advanced and honorary degrees. The last edition appeared in 1955.

The book is divided into three sections: first, a listing of alumni by classes together with addresses and occupations; second, a geographical index; and third, an alphabetical listing of all alumni. For the first time graduates and non-graduates in the class section are listed in one alphabetical compilation.

The geographical index reveals that alumni are scattered from Iceland to Indonesia, from Taiwan to Uganda. Today only 30% of the alumni make their home in New England compared with 60% in 1910. The largest concentration of alumni is in the New York area, followed by Boston, Chicago and Washington. The middle point in the alumni body today is the Class of 1940.

Alumni may obtain copies of the 1960 Directory by writing to the Alumni Records Office, Crosby Hall, Hanover, N. H., with checks made payable to Dartmouth College. The paperback edition is priced at $7.00 and the hardcover edition at $10.00.
