Bob Snedaker, 1947's head class agent last year, received the Harvey P. Hood Trophy at the Alumni Fund dinner in New York in March, honoring him as the 1960 campaign's top agent of a class 11 to 25 years out of college. Following is his citation:
In your first year of leadership of 1947, back in the 1956 Campaign, your class achieved new records in both dollars and contributors and finished fourth in the Green Derby competition. The following year, thanks to an expanded Class Agent organization, a well-planned campaign and a truly effective mailing program, the Class of 1947 won its Green Derby, recording a 102% of dollar quota and an astounding 82% participation figure. The two years of the Capital Campaign saw you continuing your leadership on the Alumni Fund front while also serving actively as a community leader on that great Dartmouth enterprise to which your class contributed over $73,000. Then, despite increased business pressures, you remained on to rekindle your class organization during the 1960 Campaign so that your successor this year would be able to build upon this strength. Your five years of dedicated service and inspired leadership has helped to make the Class of 1947 one of Dartmouth's finest. In addition you have also served the Fund as vice-president of the Class Agents Association. It is a great pleasure for the Alumni Fund Committee tonight to salute you as the outstanding Head Agent of a class eleven to twenty-five years out of college with the award of the Harvey P. Hood Trophy.
