The executive committee met on June 20 at the home of the chairman Phil Marden, in Lowell, Mass. The chief business was to receive the resignation of Kent Knowlton as class agent, which was accepted with very sincere regret, effective with the completion of the 1962 campaign. Thereafter the functions of the class agent will be handled by Phil Marden and Mrs. C. C. Merrill. The “ ’94 family” is, by this time, so familiar with its part in contribution to the Alumni Fund and has become so well accustomed to its support that it was felt this method would produce satisfactory results.
The actual number of ’94 class members has shrunken to half a dozen, but the loy- alty of the “family” members has enabled ’94 to maintain a consistently creditable stand at the head of the list every year in the “participation index” category under Kent’s efficient service, and it was felt that this would be continued by sheer momen- tum, with comparatively little effort. It was felt that especial commendation should be expressed to Mr. Knowlton for his part in the achievement of this record and enabling its continuance. We cannot aspire to com- pete, dollarwise, with the classes of six or seven times our original size, but we can, with continued effort, go on leading the “widows’ mite division.”
Mrs. Merrill showed letters and newspa- per clippings relating to the celebration of Eddie Grover’s 92nd birthday anniversary, and to the conferring on him of the Hamil- ton Holt award for his long and noteworthy service to Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla.
