The Edgar Blakes ’25 were hosts to the spring cocktail party of the Dartmouth Club of Monmouth County. The Blakes’ beautiful home in Rumson, N. J., was the perfect setting for the more than thirty club members and their wives who came to enjoy a fun-filled afternoon and evening. With the committee of George Baine Jr.’41, George Drawbaugh ’59, and their wives, the arrangements were in good hands, and the party was a great success.

James Parkes ’20, one of the original members of the Barbary Coast Orchestra during his undergraduate days, made things jump with his banjo. His playing set the pace as the members gathered to sing the old songs of Dartmouth. We were happy to see many of the younger alumni attend the party; the new blood in the club will add a lot of vigor to the agenda for the coming year. . .

The Club’s Executive Committee is to meet in the near future to name committees to run our activities for the next year. With a large number of alumni moving into our area, in addition to this year’s graduates, we expect more activities tailored to the in- terests of this group next year. The Club was saddened by me deatn oi one of its members and staunchest boosters, George E. Chamberlain ’lO. He was fatally injured in an auto accident near Red Bank the beginning of June. George was a host and organizer for many Dartmouth func- tions and a hard worker on many of its projects. He will be missed by us all.
