As part of the Dartmouth College Museum's effort to give added importance to numismatics, Doran A. Jones of North Haverhill, N.H., a numismatist of many years' experience, has been named Honorary Curator of Coins at the Museum and student curators have been appointed for the various fields. There are plans to start a Numismatic Society in the near future.
The Museum possesses the nucleus of a collection, donated by several persons over the past sixty years, but no series is complete and it is hoped that much more material win be contributed. An important gift recently received was a type set of Canadian coins presented by Delwyn J. Worthington '26.
It is the intent of the Curator, working with the students, to form an adequate working collection, covering all phases of numismatics, and to use the collection to further study in the many aspects of human endeavor represented by coinage through the ages.
