The lacrosse team has finished its Ivy League season with a 1-4 record and now stands 3-5 for the season. Two games remain to be played. Captain John Walters continues to lead the attack with 24 goals and 28 assists to his credit.
Since our last report the Indian stick-men have vanquished Colgate 11-9, Perm 16-7, and Holy Cross 17-6. In the Penn game, Walters accounted for 13 points, the season's high for any Ivy League player. The Indians were toppled by Princeton, a perennial power, 17-11, and they lost to Yale in a real cliff-hanger 13-12. In their most recent game, they fell before Harvard 13-9. The Green led 3-0 at the end of the first period against the Crimson, but a second-period relapse was their undoing.
We should also mention two other Indian stickmen who have been consistent scorers: Ed Comiskey, a creaseman, has 21 goals and five assists, and Mike Herriott, a midfielder, has seventeen goals and three assists. With Walters constantly doubled-teamed, these two players and other men on the attack have been called upon to give more balance to the Green scoring punch.
