At the annual meeting of Dartmouth
JUNE 1963

At the annual meeting of Dartmouth class officers in Hanover last month, Lawrence W. Scammon '27 (r) received the James B. Reynolds Trophy as the outstanding Head Class Agent of a class more than 25 years out of college. His work in the 1962 campaign was cited as follows by Alumni Fund Chairman Charles F. Moore Jr. '25 (1) who made the presentation:

Four years ago this spring, when you became Head Class Agent of 1927, the Alumni Fund faced a formidable rebuilding task following Dartmouth's major Capital Gifts Campaign. At that time even the most enthusiastic 1927 member would have scarcely dared to predict that your class would be a leader in this rebuilding job, an effort which culminated last year at your 35 th Reunion when 1927 became one of four Dart- mouth classes to exceed $40,000 and record the highest dollar total - $44,476 - achieved within the Green Derby competition. On top of this you and your fine team of '27 Agents compiled last year new records in contributors - 476 - and a participation of 95%. Your emphasis on increased gifts also paid dividends as your Century Club membership increased by 25% placing 1927 third among all classes with a Century Club membership of 105. After finishing a close second in two previous Group 3 Green Derby Competitions, 1927 won first place last year. Your persevering leadership, attention to every detail and imaginative approach to Alumni Fund work were also most helpful to all Classes when you served as President of our Class Agents Association last year. You, your Class Agents and the entire Class of 1927 fellowship fully deserve the honor we are privileged to bestow on you tonight as we present you, as the outstanding Head Class Agent of a class more than twenty-five years out of College, with the James B. Reynolds Trophy for 1962.
