Henry Whittemore '66, who came to Hanover May 1 to attend the Secretaries' meetings in his twenty-fifth year as secretary of the Class of 1866, died in the Hanover Inn during the early morning of May 6 following an attack of acute indigestion.
While walking in the cemetery here Sunday, May 3, he was stricken with an attack of acute indigestion to which he had been subject in recent years. He was given medical attention in Massachusetts Hall and later removed to the Inn where his condition improved. His son, Harvey F. Whittemore 'O6, came to Hanover to return with his father to their home in Waltham, Massachusetts, Monday The return was postponed until Mr. Whittemore's condition should be further improved. He died suddenly at 2:00 a.m. May 6.
