Our annual dinner meeting March 16 was an outstanding success. Highlight of the meeting was the talk of President Dickey. Ninety people gathered at the Princess Kaiulani Hotel for cocktails and dinner on the top floor dining room. An added plus was the passing of the Cherry Blossom Parade with firecrackers, bands, floats, etc.. before dinner on Kalakaua Avenue in Waikiki. We had about twenty mainland visitors at our meeting, including Rip Coffin '54 and his bride of two weeks from Washington, D. C.
The Club enjoyed the visit of Mr. and Mrs. Dickey. We hope they will plan to return every few years. President Dickey also addressed the senior academy at Punahou School, had lunch with Hawaii's Prep School headmasters, and talked to boys applying to Dartmouth this year.
One of many highlights of President Dickey's spring trip was the visit to Hawaii andmeetings such as this one in Honolulu. On hand (l to r) were John Mullen '54, Mrs. Mullen, Mrs. Atherton and Alexander Atherton '35, Carol Morse and her father RichardMorse '38, Mrs. McLaughlin (widow of Frank McLaughlin '30), President Dickey'swife Chris who accompanied him, President Dickey, and Ralph Van Orsdel '38.
