The April edition of the Journal of the Sanitary Engineering Division of the Amer- ican Society of Civil Engineers includes a paper by Neil L. Drobny '63, entitled "Effect of Paddle Design on Flocculation." In 1962 this paper was presented and awarded first prize at the New England Conference of Student Chapters of the ASCE. Neil has recently been awarded a research grant by the National Institute of Health to study problems related to sewage disposal in the Arctic.
Hal Stein '44 visited Thayer School last month with his two attractive children, a son and a daughter. Although Hal, in the plumbing business, is somewhat out of the field of civil engineering, he recalled with pleasure the project of building the bridge over Mink Brook as a class project under John Minnich a few years ago.
Henry Robbins '61 is completing two years of study at M.I.T. in the School of Industrial Management where he is a candidate for a Master's degree this June. Henry's thesis is concerned with what the proper currencies should be for United States manufacturing firms to use in financing new or expanding overseas operations.
Some newly acquired copy of Harza News, published by the Harza Engineering Company, informs us that John Scoville '54 served as acting head of the Indus Basin Review Department. Another issue of the News carries a full-page cover picture of John greeting President Ayub of West Pakistan at the Tarbela Dam site. John was also project manager for Harza on the Des Plaines River Studies for the Metropolitan Sanitary District of Greater Chicago. ArtFeinstein '55 joined Harza some months ago as an engineer in the Planning Department.
