Thank goodness reunions are only held every five years. Most of the 222 58's and their wives and dates who attended this year were happy that they had five years to recuperate before our next reunion.
From the time we all arrived Friday afternoon, until we left Sunday, there were old acquaintances to renew, functions to attend, and kegs to drain. Dick Frisch and his reunion committee are to be thanked and congratulated on a very fine production.
At our class meeting on Saturday morning, our class chairman, Dick Stoddart, presiding, there were the normal reports by the treasurer, Gary Finerty, and surprisingly enough we are still in the black; the reunion chairman, Dick Frisch, obviously at that point our fifth was successful; the class agent, Ron Snow, we again reached our quota; and the nominating committee chairman, Joe Palermo, who presented a slate for the class executive committee for the next five years.
The nominating committee's suggested slate accepted with the normal expediency anticipated at this type of meeting. The eleven-man committee represented very good geographical distribution with HalDouglas, Phil Drescher, Gary Finerty, DickFrisch, Glower Jones, Larry Kruteck, RonSnow, Dick Stoddart, Derby Wilson, HerbSwarzman, and yours truly. To keep continuity m class policy, half of the new committee was held over from the last executive committee.
The new executive committee elected Dick Stoddart class chairman, and GaryFmerty treasurer, each for another five-year term; and Ken Prouty secretary. Chairman Stoddart appointed Line Mitchell as Class Newsletter editor, Herb Swarzman as class agent, and Dick Frisch as reunion chairman for our tenth reunion. By the way, Frischie, as long as you waited until just before our fifth to get engaged, I presume you will wait another five years in order to get married at our tenth.
