The program which Caldwell will be participating in, of teaching assistantships in India, is in its third year. The recipients of these awards leave the United States in early June and receive in India a special training course in the teaching of English as a foreign language before they begin teaching in July. They are through with their teaching duties at the end of February and are free to pursue their own studies or research.
