IN THE COURSE of one balmy day - May 9 - the whole complexion of the spring season changed. On that fateful day the Dartmouth baseball team found its role as title contender suddenly shifted as the sharp cracks of Columbia connections filled the air, and the lacrosse team was dealt a severe, but perhaps not fatal, blow to its championship hopes by home-loving Harvards. But no matter what may happen in the final weeks of the season, the spring of 1964 had enough pot o' gold moments to be long remembered by the Big Green sports fans.
