Warren Lawrence Peck passed away in St. Johnsbury, Vt. on March 27, 1965 after a long illness. One story he liked to tell was how the Betas nicknamed Earle Rogers and himself our freshman year. The High Sheriff of Vermont was named Peck and he had a prisoner charged with murder, named Mary Rogers. When our two classmates arrived from St. Johnsbury what was more appropriate than Warren to become "Sheriff" and Earle "Mary."

A news item telling of the sale of the Hotel Mayflower at Plymouth, Mass., brings back memories of our 35th reunion at that place. One of the highlights was Al Newton's clambake in which he was assisted by Marge Mills. Marge is still writing a column for a Boston newspaper.

A recent announcement of interest to '09ers was that of the engagement of Miss Nancy Carroll Hailer of North Scituate, Mass., to Donald Bruce McKinnon '63 of Arlington, Mass. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Mary Carroll of Cambridge, Mass. and our late classmate, Frederic A. Carroll.

A letter from Ethel Scully says she hopes to make the reunion in June. Bernard M. Jr. is teaching at Fairfield University and Helen Marie's son Robert Patterson is a sophomore at Bowdoin College were he is a star athlete and an honor student. Ethel also has two other grandchildren.

Hal Clark, Chet Brett, Bert French, and Win Griffin 'OB were the old timers at the Cape Cod Club's March luncheon.

Among the March visitors to Florida were Head Agent Stanley Leighton and wife Ella, Gordon and Grace Weinz and "Jo" Ford. They and the other classmates who went earlier in the season have now returned and are enjoying a real New England spring.

When you read these notes, arrangements will have been completed for our reunion next month. Have you answered the call and planned to be present?

Mrs. Minna J. Andrews, widow of Harold L., writes that her eyesight has failed so that she is no longer able to read the ALUMNI MAGAZINE or her own from the University of New Mexico and so has asked to have her name removed from our mailing list.

Birthday greetings go this month to Carl Killiam (1); Kenneth E. Root (3); C. Elbert Dole (4): Allen E. Newton (16); Lynde W. Tucker (17); John H. Dowdell (22); Reginald H. Colley (27); Robinson W. Mower (28). Pres. Al Newton leaves the septuagenarians this month to join our growing group of octogenarians.

Congratulations to George and FlorenceHinckley of 130 Scamman St., So. Portland, Me., who will celebrate their 48th wedding anniversary on May 17.

The College has given us word that we will have the exclusive use of Wheeler Hall for our reunion June 13-14-15. This dormitory was opened 60 years ago this fall with 47 members of '09 domiciled in it. There are still 13 of this group that are still active in 1909 affairs. If you cannot join us in Hanover how about sending a letter recalling events of that fall.

The 1965 Alumni Fund is at the halfway mark. Have you made your donation and is it a realistic one for all that Dartmouth has meant to you over the past 60 years?
