In his dealings with Dartmouth undergraduates, Security Officer John J. O'Connor finds a sense of humor and a touch of whimsey on the plus side. Last month the following notice from the Campus Police peared on all student bulletin boards:

"One of the best kept secrets on the Dartmouth Campus appears to be the fact that there is a Lost and Found operated by the Campus Police.

"Unfortunately, we are how running out of storage space for additional articles and it has become necessary to remove the highly classified status of Lost and Found.

"We would be most happy to return all items to their rightful owners of you would just stop by the basement of College Hall and claim your property.

"A partial list of some of the items on had is: Boots & Rubbers - 4 prs., Bracelets - 6, Bicycles — 30, Caps and Hats — 27 (assorted colors, shapes & sizes), Coats — 4, Cameras — 4, Gloves & Mittens — 51 prs. (plus 2 dozen singles), Jackets - 4, Shortie Nightie - 1 (can be claimed anonymously), Pens and Pencils - 4, Slide Rules - 4, Rings - 6, Radios - 4, Shirts - 6, Scarves - 30, Sweaters — 18, Skates - 4 prs., Tumpet - 1, Watches — 27 (AMEN).

"To the above list can be added FIFTY(50) pairs of eyeglasses plus other assorted jewelry and items too numerous to mention.

"Stop in and browse around from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. We need the space for our spring stock."

The response was phenomenal, and space for the spring stock is now adequate.
