Soon after the beginning of the third term it was announced by President Dickey that Dr. Gilbert H. Mudge had asked to be relieved of his administrative duties by September 1.
The President said that he had accepted Dean Mudge's decision with re- gret and expressed his appreciation "for all that you have done, both officially and personally, to serve the purposes and best interests of the Dartmouth Medical School. ..."
Dr. Mudge, who has been Dean and Professor of Experimental Therapeutics since June 1962, plans to continue his teaching and research at the Medical School. He came to Dartmouth from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine where he had been associate dean and chairman of the Department of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics.
