Roger M. Bury '27 was saluted as the Class Secretary of the Year at the annual May gathering of Dartmouth class officers in Hanover. J. Michael McGean '49, Associate Secretary of the College, presented him with a copy of the new history of the College and read the following citation:
Your work as Class Secretary is as meticulous and trustworthy as the IBM machines you work with every day. As Manager of Administration Programming for the International Business Machines Corporation, you know full well the importance of up-to-date records and deadlines. Since your election as Class Secretary in 1963 you have been a model secretary, meeting your monthly deadlines for the Alumni Magazine, keeping tabs on your classmates. Even tne uneasy task of writing obituaries is done promptly and with care.
You have always been interested in Dartmouth affairs. Almost immediately upon graduation you became active with the Dartmouth Club of New Haven, serving a two-year term as Club Secretary in 1929 and 1930. In recent years you have ably served the Dartmouth Club of Western Connecticut.
You have been with IBM since graduation and have steadily moved up through the ranks. Just as IBM as appreciated your capabilities, so as your College. You have given much to Dartmouth, including a son Curtiss, Class of 1953. For all your good works, and the spirit in which you render them, it is an honor to recognize you as Class Secretary of the Year.
