Approximately 25 members of the Dartmouth Club of Western Washington, together with their wives, met April 28 at the Black Angus Restaurant, Seattle, for the annual business meeting and to hear a very stimulating presentation by Nichol M. Sandoe Jr. '45, Assistant to the Vice President of the College.

President William M. Holman '40 introduced Tom Gomez, John Segelbaum and Dave Longmuir, three outstanding applicants who have been accepted by and have themselves accepted Dartmouth.

The balance in the Sam Barnes Class of 1907 Memorial Fund as of June 30, 1964 was reported to be $16,964.31. Income for the year was $902.25 which was added to principal. Thus, approximately $1,000 will be available hereafter each year for scholarships.

Philip Swain '38, member of the Seattle School Board, spoke in his capacity as a member of the Dartmouth Alumni Council. His remarks covered many of the matters discussed at the recent Council meeting particularly the teacher-scholar issue which has plagued certain campuses. He was able to assert that at Dartmouth the basic instruction is still undertaken by professors.

Among the Dartmouth topics covered by Nick Sandoe was Project ABC, about which an impressive film strip was shown. After the formal meeting Nick was kind enough to subject himself to a lively question and answer period.

Club officers elected for the coming year are: President, James Jones '50; Vice President, Herman Siqueland '54; Secretary, Philip Livingston '58; Treasurer, David Wallace '63.
