More Honors for Gilroy
JULY 1965

Frank D. Gilroy '5O has added new laurels to the Pulitzer and Drama Critics Circle awards noted in last month's article on his accomplishments. His play, The SubjectWas Roses, was awarded an American Theatre Wing "Tony" as the best play of 1965 - giving Gilroy a sweep of the big-three drama awards - and a scene from the current Broadway show was played before a White House audience during the marathon of American culture, entitled "The White House Festival of the Arts."

Gilroy has been commissioned by the Lincoln Center Fund for Creative and Artistic Advancement to write a short drama —to be combined with an original ballet and original opera - for a special one-hour National Educational Television show marking the third anniversary of the opening of the Lincoln Center. The show is scheduled on the N.E.T. network on September 22.
