Russell W. Brace '56 (r) was honored as Class President of the Year at the annual meeting of the Dartmouth class officers in Hanover on May 13. In conferring the award J. Michael McGean '49, Secretary of the College, read this citation:
In the six that you have been President, the Class of 1956 has set a remarkable pace. Under your leadership this class has established a scholarship for foreign students, the first recipient having graduated in 1965. An annual fall reunion has been held in Hanover each year to coincide with an Executive Committee meeting. A second Executive Committee meeting is held annually in New York during the spring of the year. And now your class is moving toward a record-breaking Tenth Reunion.
_*ou have kept in close touch with your key otiicers. Their records in dues collections, news- letter production, and the Alumni Fund attest to the fact that strong leadership does pay off. Each member of your Executive Committee is playing an important role, good examples be- inS the production of a Class Directory and gatherings of the class before football games.
. It: is the busiest men that often find the most tape for Dartmouth. You earlier served in the Air Force and now have become President and Treasurer of the Journal Publishing Company in Camden, Maine. You are active in state and community projects, but have continually found time for Dartmouth as an officer in the Dart- mouth Club of Maine and as a Class Officer. In recognition of leadership at its best, we de- clare you Class President of the Year.
