BEFORE coming to Dartmouth in 1965 as an instructor in physics, Assistant Professor Arthur Luehrmann Jr. was a lecturer in natural science at the University of Chicago, downtown center. He was promoted to assistant professor last year.
A native of New Orleans, Professor Luehrmann was educated at the University of Chicago, where he received an A.B. degree in 1955, S.B. in 1957, S.M. in 1961, and Ph.D. in 1966. His undergraduate work was in chemistry and his graduate work in physics. He currently teaches Dartmouth undergraduate courses in Classical and Contemporary Physics.
From 1952-54, Professor Luehrmann served with the U. S. Army. He was a visiting lecturer at the University of Puerto Rico in the summers of 1960 and 1962.
