The Dartmouth Club of Oregon had one of the most active summers in its history. On July 4 a chip keg party was held at the bachelor quarters of John Catlett '66 and Charlie Mitchell '66, with beautiful weather prevailing and an easterly view of the Willamette River valley and Mt. Hood in the distance. Thirty-one alumni, wives, and several Dartmouth students showed up to drain the keg dry.

On July 17 President Jud Goldsmith, BillFarrens '61, Jay Herpel '59, Cam Richardson '52, and yours truly met with Dave Orr'57 to discuss the state of the College, alumni affairs, and Dave's visit to the far reaches of the Northwest. We appreciate Dave's taking time from his vacation days to meet with us.

The largest gathering in the last four years of 88 alumni, wives, children, students, parents, and friends met on August 20 at the home of Laurie and Guido Rahr '51 for the annual picnic. The fare included barbecued salmon caught by President Jud, Bill Farrens and Jay Herpel and a large Chinook donated by Bill's father. Entering freshmen John Coffey and Steve Tyson joined the group which included many of the old timers and some seldom seen alumni: Dr. BillConklin '31, Dr. David Lee '54, Paul Woelfel '27, Blake Hering '53, and Guy Busch'49. In addition we were happy to welcome some of the new arrivals to the Northwest.
