Fund Is Running Strong
JUNE 1967

As Dartmouth's 1967 Alumni Fund Campaign headed toward its final month it appeared that the first $2-million goal in history could be achieved by the June 30 deadline. Totals through May 22 showed that 12,350 alumni, parents, and friends had contributed $1,175,000, putting the current drive some 450 donors and $115,000 ahead of last year's campaign on the same date.

The Fund's mid-campaign report showed most classes doing very well, with tight races in all the traditional Green Derby groups. The leading classes and Head Agents at mid-May were: Group I — 1907, Bob Kenyon; Group II—191B, Tom Bryant; Group III — 1924, Doug Craig; Group IV — 1932, Al Boncutter; Group V — 1941, Bob Thomas; Group VI - 1946, Tom Adams; Group VII — 1957, Joe Stevenson; and Group VIII - 1960, Seth Strickland.

Leading all classes in total dollars was the 25th reunion Class of 1942 with over $60,000 in hand toward a final total which was expected to exceed $80,000. The Dartmouth Parents Campaign, included in Alumni Fund totals, had already reached $53,000 of its $70,000 goal under the leadership of Chairman H. Tenison Deane.

But June remains the Fund's all-important month and Chairman Ralph Lazarus '35 cautioned all Fund agents against over-optimism, pointing out that the hard work of the homestretch drive was now ahead.
