Set of Freud Presented

The Dartmouth Library last month received as the gift of Dr. John Milne Murray '19 a rare presentation set of Freud's works. Handsomely bound in full leather, each of the 26 volumes contains a special introductory page identifying the set as having been presented by the British Psycho-Analytical Society to Dr. Murray "whose sponsorship in the United States of America of this Standard Edition of the complete psychological works of Sigmund Freud greatly facilitated the publication." There exist only three such specially bound presentation sets. The other two went respectively to James Strachey, editor and translator of Freud, and to Anna Freud, daughter of the famous pioneer in psychoanalysis.
