Dartmouth College received a record total of $15,443,864 in gifts and grants from alumni, parents, friends, foundations, and corporations during the fiscal year ended June 30, 1968. The total was the highest ever received by the College in a single year, surpassing the previous high of $10,336,000 in 1964-65. The total was made up of $8,522,000 in cash gifts to Dartmouth's Third Century Fund, $4,773,000 in other gifts and grants, and a record-breaking 1968 Alumni Fund total of $2,148,548.

Dartmouth's Bequest and Estate Planning Program also had a record year with $4,174,632 in receipts, included in the various categories outlined above. Leading the way were bequest realizations of $2,641,177 - second highest in the history of the College - and a record total of $858,690 in life-income gifts. Estate Planning gifts amounted to $321,-872, and receipts from trusts in the hands of others totaled $352,893. A majority of the funds realized through this program go into Dartmouth's permanent endowment.
