Dr. Arthur L. Kinne '12 was recently honored by the Board of Directors and Medical Staff of Holyoke (Mass.) Hospital for 50 years of service as a doctor. At an October 5 dinner they saluted him as a beloved figure in the Holyoke community and as a doctor who has looked after three generations of some families. He has delivered more than 6,000 babies and still believes in making a house call when a patient needs him.
Following his graduation from Johns Hopkins Medical School in 1916, Dr. Kinne interned in Boston and then returned to his hometown of Holyoke to enter practice with his father. He became a member of the American College of Surgeons and served as president of the staff of Holyoke Hospital as well as chief obstetrician of the hospital and county medical examiner. Although he decided to terminate his obstetric practice this year, reaching the 50-year mark does not signal general retirement for Dr. Kinne.
