We very much regret to learn of the death of John Arborio in Florida on December 3. (See obituary section.)
A few weeks ago your husband/ wife secretary team journeyed to New York at the invitation of brother Reg to attend the Glee Club's Bicentennial concert in Scarsdale. By now the spring tour is over but it was one of the best balanced groups we have heard. The second half of the program was a history of the College using slides and narrators bringing together the important milestones of growth to the present day. Scenes and composite photos of professors through the '30s were particularly electrifying but the typical "Dartmouth Undying" finale using a magnificent selection of colored sunset and snow scenes to illustrate the words was just great. Of course we nosed about the hall searching for classmates but ,the only item we can report is Mr. and Mrs. DonaldMiller listed on the program as sponsors but if they attended we could not find them.
Mort Berkowitz, president of Flower Growing Publishing Inc. (Home Garden Magazine), sends word they have merged with Universal Publishing & Distributing Corp. (Golf, Ski, Family Handyman) as a wholly-owned subsidiary which he says is an excellent move. UPD also puts out business publications (Ski Business, Ski Area Management, Golfdom), also the Award line of special interest books. Mort will remain with his organization during the transition period and it is expected he will later join the parent company in an important capacity. On the personal side they recently had Carl andCorky Ray in for an evening with only the news that "all seems well with them." DaveCamerer spent the night after attending the Baseball Writers Annual Dinner all enthusiastic about the new PR business venture reported here last month. (Dave sends word their first account is Connecticut Probate Judges.) Mort continues, "the best I can report on Bill Geraghty is that I dreamt about him two nights ago but damned if I can get a letter out of him."

At the January meeting of the American Football Coaches Association our honorary classmate Bob Blackmail was appointed a trustee along with six other coaches - "Bear" Bryant, John McKay, "Duffy" Daugherty, Bob Devaney, Ara Parseghian, and Joe Paterno (Penn State). The Association is composed of thousands of high school and college coaches throughout the United States.
Our sharp-eyed Washington correspondent, Sam Dillon, sends a clipping listing daily activities of Congress. Under Ways and Means Committee, subject: Tax Reform, is a long list of important business people from around the country to be heard that day, and among them Dr. William Heroy, president American Geological Institute and Mathematical Association of America. Ben Marion has been in touch with Sam several times lately and told him he was resigning from HEW and leaving at the end of March for two years in Japan. Ben, when you get settled over there please drop a line to this department and let us know what you are doing.
We sees were requested to be brief this month due to space requirements, and it's just as well! How about some of you people returning the cards we sent out?
