Bernie Fulton, an experienced anti-poverty executive, moved from Washington to Atlantic City, becoming director of the Model City program there.

Bob Keane is on leave from Hofstra University to do a "critical study" of Dante Gabriel Rossetti's poetry, under a fellowship from the National Foundation for the Humanities. Right now Bob is spending two months in London doing research at the British Museum, Oxford and Cambridge.

Red Hennigar has been elected a vice president, sales, of Burgess & Leith, members of the New York and Boston Stock Exchanges. He joined the firm in 1962 as a registered representative. Formerly he was in the sales department of the Mobil Oil Company. He also serves as a director of the Melrose Cooperative Bank. As a loyal alumnus, he is a member of the executive committee of the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Boston. He and Jill and their four children live in Reading, Mass.

Gene Givens is now a partner in the Los Angeles law firm of Nicholas, Kolliner, Van Tassel & Myers. Jerry Moore is president of Coral Equipment Co. in Miami.

Joe Kagle and his wife have completed a 23,000-mile around-the-world tour, during which they worked as visiting associate professor of art and nurse for the World Campus Afloat. Joe received an award as "outstanding teacher." Now the travelers have settled in Spokane where he is director of a new art school that opened in March for young students in the community. It's called Spokane Art School, and the Spokane Junior League gave $7,000 to help start it. Joe has an MFA degree from the University of Colorado, and has headed the art departments at Washington and Jefferson College in Pennsylvania and Keuka College in upstate New York. Joe has worked in the Northwest before, as artist in residence for Washington State University and director of the university's art school in Spokane, in 1965. Joe now sports a full beard, grandly offsetting a somewhat receding hairline.

Pete Branch married Penny Conser of Hinsdale, Ill., March 29 in La Grange, Ill. Penny attended the University of Arizona and is a stewardess for American Airlines. If you've ever wondered whom those cute stewardesses marry, it's pertinent to note that Pete is a pilot for American, just returning to the airline after a tour of military duty. He's been flying an F-100 at Myrtle Beach Air Force Base, and was promoted to major on June 1 just before returning to civilian life. Pete Buhler made the trip from Cleveland for the wedding.

Bob Schneider took the hand of Ellen Jane Gervais of New York, February 1 in Freeport, Long Island. She graduated from Hartford College for Women and is a securities analyst trainee in New York. Bob is a motion picture assistant director.

Woody Goss was concert chairman for the Glee Club's appearance in Worcester, Mass., March 21. Woody is also first vice president of the Worcester County Dartmouth Club.

Bob Borwell, a vice president of Marsh & McLennan, Inc., is still traveling far and wide from his Chicago base to service some of the huge insurance firm's major customers. He flits from coast to coast, to New Orleans and Houston, sometimes on the go for weeks on end. "I enjoy it," says Bob, "but I'm getting older and tireder." Making call after call on this rigorous schedule, "your smile wears thin."

Mike Fiedling was elected a partner in the Chicago-based brokerage firm of Bacon, Whipple & Co. "More work — more responsibility," reports Mike. He's also the firm's assistant sales manager.

Jim Heifer was promoted to associate professor of religion at Wesleyan (Conn.) University. He is also master of West College at the university, and last year was co-director of a special university study of undergraduate environment, producing recommendations regarding university expansion plans. Jim received a Ph.D. from Princeton in 1962.

Gale Roberson leads captains of industry through the maze of securities law in his work with the Chicago firm of Quinn, Jacobs & Berry. In a recent trip to New York, Gale encountered both Lou Miano and AlMurray, which demonstrates he was frequenting diverse circles. Gale's wife Ann, who completed three years at Manhattanville as an English major before marriage, is now plugging away at Northwestern to finish her bachelor's degree —in business finance. On campus she's coping with the world of computers, marketing, and business behavior, while still coping with small children at home. But when they're older, says Gale, Ann will plunge out into business. "She's not a clubwoman," he explains.

Bill Ramsay merged his family-owned Chicago terrazzo company into another firm, Capital Terrazzo Co., and he remains secretary of the merged company. He and Ann, models of stability, are still living in the suburban Northbrook house they built in 1960. "Everything just goes on and on and on," says Bill. Ann volunteers two days a week in a nearby school for the mentally ill. Bill reports that their black Labrador flunked out of two schools, obedience and field training...

Your correspondent resigned in May as press secretary to Illinois Governor Richard Ogilvie to run in the September Republican primary election for the Congressional seat vacated by Office of Economic Opportunity Director Donald Rumsfeld. The Congressional district encompasses several of Chicago's northern and northwestern suburbs and is heavily Republican.
