Seventeen members of the junior class have been named Senior Fellows to work on individual study projects next year. Senior Fellowships were initiated in 1929 by President Hopkins, and reinstated by President Dickey in 1945 after a temporary halt during World War II.

The new Fellows and the areas of study in which they will work are Stephen B. Abramson, biology; Erie H. Austin, biology; A. Joel Feldman, psychology; Wallace L. Ford, history; William E. Glanz, biochemistry; Stephen E. Harvard, graphic arts; Herschell L. Johnson, literature; Paul W. Ladenson, sociology; Robert F. McKay Jr., literature; Frederick A. Meier Jr., German; Traylor T. Mercer, philosophy; Leonard P. Price, novel writing; Joseph D. Schwartzman, biology; Laurence M. Shay, English; C. Addison Stone, psychology; Stephen Stonefield, Asian studies; and David N. Strohm, government.
