The Joshua A. Davis Trophy signifying the greatest improvement in the 1968 Alumni Fund campaign was presented to William G. Morton '28 (1) by Chairman Richard D. Lombard '53 at the New York Class Agents' dinner on April 8. Following is the citation:
Stepping back into the breach again in 1968 after two previous Alumni Fund stints, one as Head Class Agent for '28 back in the late forties, then as Alumni Fund Chairman in 1956 and 1957, you proved that you had not lost your touch. Radiating your boundless enthusiasm and energy, you willingly took on the Head Agent's job along with your Class Presidency and led the class to a new record dollar total of $54,077, thereby earning for yourself and the Class of 1928 the 1968 Joshua A. Davis Trophy, awarded each year to the class achieving the greatest improvement in a single campaign.
